commissioned John to build me a Telecaster in 2001 for stage use, just a standard
model, honey blonde finish. I was suprised to get a stunning grain pattern ash
body that was yellow stained! John explained that the selected wood was too good
to cover with opaque paint, as Fender do, so left all grain visible. Brought
lots of comments on gigs. Excellent job. He also fixed my Twin Reverb that was
giving me problems on stage.

a guitar fest in Sheffield in 2003 with my good lady, I saw a see-through Stratocaster
and see-through Twin Reverb being played by Tommy Emmanuel. A tremendous amount
of interest in these, but my eyes were drawn to a gorgeous Telecaster, in blue
stain that showed all the grain, with a solid sabah ebony neck that I fell in
love with on the spot. My lady said she would buy it on the spot if it was for
sale, and I had not even heard it. Playing it through the see-through Twin, it

serviced my stage guitars and amps for a while now, and I have asked for some
unusual combinations of pickup/bridge/switching etc that has always been of high
quality and excellent finish. I have just taken delivery of a beautiful Start
in sunburst finish with everything I asked for: noiseless pickups, 70's details
with 70's tuners, and neck plate, 70's cast Tremolo system, the lot. Even tinted
maple neck as they were back then. He is the man!

seen this guys workmanship? Great guitars and a builder of pickup winding equipment
that is all we need in our factory. made two machines for us that allows us to
resurrect pickups that were destined for the scrap bin. Turned out a cracking
finish see-through Strat and 60's Twin reverb. Nice guy. Great sense of humour
that even us Americans appreciate.
